Dewey Smith is a legend in the halter horse and quarter horse breeding business. He and his wife, Tammi, own and operate Smith Quarter Horses and manage JL Robinson Quarter Horses in Bellefontaine, OH.

Dewey has trained some of the greatest halter horse stallions in the industry, with PF Premo and WhoIsIt as two of the most notable. Both are consistent winners, with WhoIsIt as the 2019 Select World Champion and multiple Congress championships. PF Premo is an eight time AQHA World Champion, five time Quarter Horse Congress Grand Champion, Reserve World Champion Sire, and multiple futurity champion producer.

When he’s not earning the spotlight in the arena, Dewey and his wife manage their large reproduction program in Ohio. Their breeding facility is set up to collect studs and flush embryos on their own horses, plus they offer full-service breeding for customers who are interested in artificial insemination, embryo transfer and flushing, and semen collection.

In addition to his repro lab and breeding room, Dewey’s state-of-the-art barn comes fully equipped with an aqua track, magna wave and fully covered arena in addition to some brilliantly laid out stalls. Out of this impressive facility come some of the finest halter horses in the country.
